We are a writing group that works from various UC reserve stations. Over the past couple of years, we've loved spending time at Point Reyes, Big Sur, Hastings, Sedgwick, Santa Cruz Island, Yosemite, Blue Oak Reserve—and we're very excited about the possibility of visiting Burns Pinon. Our general rhythm involves writing separately during the day—many of us are working on nonfiction projects and poetry chapbooks tied to California landscapes—and then gathering in the evenings to share our what we've accomplished that day on the page and offer feedback in a workshop setting. For instance, one of our group members is writing a series of walking poems at each of the UC Reserves in a study of land use, preservation, and climate change.
