Sagehen Creek Field Station

As graduate students in the Center for Environmental Policy and Behavior in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy, we are applying to your reserve to host an off-campus writing retreat for our interdisciplinary group of environmental social scientists. Our "lab group", the Center for Environmental Policy and Behavior (CEPB), is composed of three professors, two post-docs, nine PhD students and three masters students. We engage in collaborative work and research around environmental policy and planning, natural resource management, human decision-making, institutional analysis, sharing methodological approaches and theoretical foundations. We, the graduate students of the lab, seek to organize and host a writing retreat in winter quarter 2018. The retreat will have 3 goals: 1) allow workgroups to meet and work on their collaborative projects; 2) individual writing time to advance work on dissertations, masters theses, or side project papers; 3) provide opportunity for peer-review by sharing work. We believe it will be enormously beneficial to the lab to devote three days without distraction to close collaboration and discussion, and believe Sagehen would provide the perfect setting to achieve such objectives. We greatly appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you.
