The course is natural history of Forest ecosystems. It is a non-majors intro field course. Getting students outside, showing them variation in biodiversity for this site as compared to other forest ecosystems. We will hike, potentially collect insects depending on temperatures (I have permit). Key out plants, trees, do bird watching. Students will learn how to do a survey to calculate diversity index. Drive to and then hike to Carpenter Ridge.
